Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance, minor repairs, and pre/post checks on equipment including sensors and electronics.
  • Provide technical expertise for fabrication, modification, bench test, calibration and troubleshooting of prototype systems.
  • Plan remote sensor test maintenance and readiness for operations involving multiple functions such as readiness, utilization, safety, and interagency coordination.
  • Assist with ad hoc test support projects, including field support and liaison with stakeholders in support of project assignments.
  • Perform hands on support to all aspects of Cape test operations as assigned.
  • Comply with and facilitates industry hygiene and safety standards and requirements in the workplace.
  • Identify equipment and electronics deficiencies.
  • Support both execution and management of technical projects.
  • Design, develop and integrate electrical components, as required, into developmental systems to assist in payload to platform integration activities.
  • Provide tracking of program activities and status reporting to synchronize and enhance missions.
  • Perform specialized work requiring interpretation and application of concepts, theories, and ability to make sound judgments.
  • Provide technical advice to government project managers and engineers.

Job description

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must have a high school diploma and 4 - 10 years’ related experience.
  • Ability to manage time and resources.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to present relevant factors (both verbal and written) so that technical information is understood by non-technical end users.
  • Degree of judgment and multi-tasking associated with performing job duties.
  • May provide support on special projects as needed.
  • Eagle PCB design software and PCB's fabricated at a fab house or fabricated themselves.
  • Connecting and configuring marine components.
  • NMEA-2000 and network configuration.
  • Waterproofing/weatherproofing/ruggedizing electrical components.
  • Soldering skills including SMD (surface mount design).
  • Cable fabrication (i.e. Ethernet, Cat5, Coaxial, etc.).
  • Familiar with circuit analysis.
  • Familiar with microcontrollers and microcomputers.
  • Familiar with RF equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Works well independently or as part of a group.
  • Successful background and drug screening.
