Job summary

Dometic is seeking an Electronics Technician in Port St. Lucie, FL. You will test, troubleshoot to the component level, and repair electrical systems and assemblies. You will document actions and work with engineering on tester designs, while supporting production to meet efficiency, quality, and cost targets.

The role requires soldering (SMT & TH), understanding transistors/diodes/IGBTs, English communication, and a focus on safety and housekeeping within a global, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; Electronics preferred with some college coursework.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; read schematics and product documentation.
• Experience with soldering, testing, and repairing electronic assemblies in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform component- and system-level testing and troubleshooting.
• Document corrective and preventative actions; create/test instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering on new product development and tester repair/design.
• Utilize test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, function generator) for diagnosing issues.
• Support production to maintain productivity, quality and cost targets; adhere to 5S and safety standards.

About the position

As an Electronics Technician in the Port St Lucie team, you will be involved in testing, troubleshooting to the component level, and repairing of electrical systems, equipment, and assemblies. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Your main responsibilities

• May include root cause analysis of component and systems failures, test execution and data collection, and designing and implementing product testing infrastructure
• The Electronics Troubleshooter may work with engineering on new product development and tester repair and design
• The Electronics Troubleshooter must be able to document corrective actions and preventative actions, as well as work/test instructions
• Troubleshooting is performed utilizing drawings, schematics, and tools which include DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, and other test equipment
• The Electronics Troubleshooter will assist production as needed
• Duties must be performed timely and accurately, with clear communication as appropriate, in a safe manner that achieves department productivity, quality and cost targets, all while maintaining good housekeeping using the principles of 5S
• Other duties as assigned

A suitable background would be a

solid experience within xxx and xxx **** – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

• High School Diploma/GED Required, Associates Degree in Electronics preferred
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Soldering of both surface mount and through hole components
• Must have fundamental understanding of transistors, diodes, silicone-controlled rectifiers (SCRs), and insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs)
• Responsible for the completeness and correctness of all work assigned
• Must be able to meet department KPI standards (productivity, quality, cost and pick time)
• Ability to lead or participate in Continuous Improvement projects
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds, climb ladders and stand or walk throughout scheduled shift
• Must be reliable and on time to work each day
