Job summary

Oak Grove Technologies, LLC seeks an Electronic Technician to sustain mission-critical tactical systems across SFQC and related training operations. You will perform bench-level diagnostics, calibrations, and repairs on communications, COMSEC, navigation, and electro-optical platforms while maintaining NSA-compliant procedures.

Working under the shop supervisor, you will handle advanced test gear, document actions in Army logistics systems, and ensure timely return to service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sustain equipment Operational Readiness (OR) for SFQC and related training blocks.
• Perform bench-level diagnostics, alignment, testing, and repair of tactical comms and Type-1 encryption systems.
• Use advanced test sets, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers to isolate faults in HF/VHF/UHF transceivers.
• Execute software updates, key-loading, module replacements, and diagnostics on secure devices per NSA guidelines.
• Diagnose and calibrate DAGR and DAPS navigation systems and associated sensors.
• Maintain RF repeaters, counter-UAS sensors, and surveillance platforms to prevent dropouts.
• Conduct intermediate-level maintenance, alignment, and purging cycles for electro-optical and night vision devices.
• Provide technical services on night optics and clip-on thermal devices and verify proper operation.
• Document diagnostics and maintenance actions in Army logistics databases; track TAT and manage Class IX inventory.
• Perform final QA inspections before inventory turn-back and ensure compliance with manuals and specs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sustain an uncompromising equipment Operational Readiness (OR) rate to ensure continuous candidate throughput across the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) and associated high-risk tactical training blocks.
• Operate as hands-on bench peers under the general supervision of the shop supervisor.
• Inspect, test, align, troubleshoot, and repair modern tactical communications and Type-1 cryptographic encryption systems.
• Utilize advanced test sets, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers to isolate and correct faults within tactical HF, VHF, and UHF multiband transceivers, specifically including the AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-152A, AN/PRC-163, and AN/PRC-148 systems.
• Perform software updates, cryptographic key-loading procedures, module replacements, and technical diagnostics on secure fill devices (e.g., KGV-72, AN/PYQ-10 SKL, TKLs) in strict accordance with National Security Agency (NSA) physical and electronic security guidelines, ensuring the complete preservation of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) and COMSEC data integrity.
• Diagnose, calibrate, repair, and maintain military dismounted navigation systems, surveillance arrays, and tactical electronic detection devices.
• Technical tasks include performing circuit level diagnostics, component replacement, and system functional testing on Defense Advanced GPS Receivers (DAGR) and Dismounted Assured Positioning Systems (DAPS).
• Ensure the operational readiness of tactical radio frequency (RF) repeaters, counter-UAS sensors, and specialized directional-finding surveillance platforms utilized by training committees, resolving hardware and firmware faults to prevent communication and telemetry dropouts during remote field exercises.
• Execute advanced intermediate-level maintenance, alignment, and purging cycles for standard and high-performance electro-optical, night vision, and thermal weapon systems.
• Perform technical services on standard Night Optical Devices (AN/PVS-14, AN/PVS31A, AN/AVS-9), high-performance White Phosphor Night Optical Devices (AN/PSQ-36 FGE, PVS31C), and clip-on thermal devices (AN/PAS-13 series, COTI/ECOTI).
• Technical operations shall encompass nitrogen leak testing, vacuum purging, tube gain calibration, reticle alignment, optical axis collimation, infinity focus adjustments, and high-precision resolution testing utilizing TS-4348/UV or ANV-126 test sets within specialized, dust-free darkroom environments.
• Document all technical diagnostics, parts consumption, preventive maintenance actions, and completed work orders within standard Army automated logistics database systems.
• Maintain meticulous maintenance records, track equipment repair turnaround times (TAT), manage shop parts inventories (Class IX), and initiate replenishment requisitions.
• Execute final quality assurance inspections on all serviced communications, COMSEC, and electro-optical platforms prior to inventory turn-back, verifying that repaired equipment conforms strictly to Department of the Army technical manuals, quality control standards, and manufacturer specifications.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizen
• Valid U.S. driver's license
• Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
• Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense Secret security clearance, undergo a favorable Tier 1 (T1) background investigation, and complete annual Cyber Awareness, Information Assurance, and PII protection training prior to receiving access to Government-furnished computer terminals or secure COMSEC storage facilities
• Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable bench-level experience in tactical communications repair, COMSEC diagnostics, and electro-optics purging/collimation
• Minimum three years' experience and honorably served as an Army MOS 94E (Radio/COMSEC Repairer), 94F (Computer/Detection Repairer), or 91F (Small Arms/Artillery Repairer) with electro-optics ASI, or have equivalent experience from another military branch or hold equivalent certified civilian technical credentials
• Must have experience providing intermediate-level diagnostic troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and component-level repair of mission-critical tactical communications, communications security (COMSEC), and advanced night optical devices (NODs)
• Must be proficient in installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, calibrating, tuning, and adjusting electronic equipment used for communications, navigation, detection, identification, cryptography, and surveillance
• Must have experience managing command and control systems, communications equipment, encryption equipment, and tactical electronic detection systems
• Must be proficient in installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, calibrating, tuning, and adjusting night vision devices to include, but not limited to, standard night optical devices, white phosperous night optical devices, and thermal systems or sights
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication
