Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking an Electronics Technician in Chantilly, VA to perform functional, operational testing of electronic assemblies for space and defense systems. You will execute standardized test procedures, document results, troubleshoot basic issues, and verify hardware meets performance and quality requirements in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 4 years of related experience or an associate

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience or 2 yrs post-secondary with 0-2 yrs related experience.
  • Experience handling electronics or PCB assemblies and electrical test.
  • Proficiency in learning new/proprietary software quickly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual or automated functional, operational and environmental testing of production assemblies.
  • Follow written instructions to execute tasks in a standard, repeatable manner.
  • Set up and break down testing work area using basic electro-mechanical skills.
  • Record results and identify when to escalate issues.
  • Propose corrections or improvements to test procedures and processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Use meters and tools such as multimeters and signal generators.
  • Work closely in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Electronics Technician is responsible for performing functional, operational, and environmental testing of electronic assemblies supporting advanced space and defense systems. This role supports production activities by executing standardized test procedures, documenting results, troubleshooting basic issues, and ensuring hardware meets performance and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically hands-on, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform manual or automated functional testing, operational and environmental tests to verify the performance and reliability of production assemblies.
  • Follow written instructions to execute tasking in a standard and repeatable manner
  • Setup and break down testing work area, as per training and instruction, by applying basic electro-mechanical skills
  • Determine test outcomes, record results, and recognize when to escape issues.
  • Recommend corrections, improvements to test procedures and/or processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Comfortable using various meters and tools including multimeters, signal generators, etc.
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
  • Experience working in a team-based environment, ideally in production setting, where accurate and complete work is critical to next step in line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience or 2 yrs post-Secondary / Associates Degree with 0-2 yrs prior related experience
  • Experience handling electronics or printed circuit assemblies and electrical test
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new/proprietary software in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in the utilization of computer software, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates or Vocational degree in Electrical Technology, or similar
Working Conditions
  • ESD production environment. Some exposure to machine noise; hearing protection may be required.
  • Must have availability to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts as scheduled.
  • Overtime and weekends may be requested to fulfill needs.
  • Primarily located in Chantilly with flexibility to occasionally work in Fairfax.
  • Occasionally lifting up 25 lbs. exertion. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Repetitive Motion: Constantly operates test equipment, computers and other office productivity machinery.
Pay Information

Full-Time Hourly Pay Range: $28.00 - $53.00

Please Note: Actual compensation offered will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, business considerations, and geographic location where applicable.
