Job summary

V2X is seeking an Electronics Technician I (Field Instrumentation Team) at Fort Irwin, CA. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MILES hardware used to instrument vehicles and personnel for training exercises.

Responsibilities include RTU installation support, on-range maintenance, and accurate real-time logging in InSITE (Maximo). A Secret clearance and AA or 1+ year experience with no degree are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with no degree or an AA.
• Secret clearance required.
• Experience with installation, deinstallation, and troubleshooting of MILES hardware.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installation, deinstallation and troubleshooting of MILES hardware for vehicle and wearer instrumentation.
• Provide RTU installation support during pre-rotation MILES install operations.
• Work as part of a contact team once the unit is down range to ensure MILES hardware functions.
• De-installation of MILES hardware after rotation.
• Perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS and GFP following manuals or best practices.
• Record all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE (Maximo). Adheres to warranty terms and tracks items by part and serial numbers.

Electronics Technician I (Field Instrumentation Team) - Fort Irwin, California

Ground Tactical Engagement Systems (TES) consists of simulation and training equipment including but not limited to the following:

• Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (I-MILES) Combat Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System (CV TESS), Opposing forces Surrogate Tracked Vehicle (OSTV), Opposing Forces Surrogate Vehicle (OSV) , Opposing forces Surrogate Wheeled Vehicle (OSWV), I-MILES Tactical Vehicle System (TVS), I-MILES Vehicle Tactical.
• Engagement Simulation System (V TESS) Basic and Delta Kits, I-MILES Individual Weapons Systems (IWS & IWS/2) + Mirror Alignment Jig Kit (MAJiK & MAJiK-V2), I-MILES Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLM), I-MILES Universal Controller Device (UCD), MK-19, TOW Improved Target Acquisition System – Tactical Engagement Simulation System (ITAS-TESS), MILES 2000 Laser Target Interface Device (LTID), MILES-Basic Small Arms Alignment Fixture (SAAF) and STINGER.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the performance of all actions associated with the installation, deinstallation and troubleshooting of MILES hardware used for the instrumentation of vehicles and man worn MILES.
• Responsibilities include providing RTU installation support during pre-rotation MILES install operations and working as part of a contact team once the unit is down range to ensure MILES hardware is functioning properly.
• De-installation of MILES hardware one rotational training is complete.
• Perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS and GFP, following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available.
• Ensures maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing.
• Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE (Maximo). Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location. Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer's instructions.
