Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer to support its defense electronics facility. You will collaborate across design, test and manufacturing to specify requirements and develop test hardware and software for production assemblies.

You will implement test software with Python, NI LabVIEW and TestStand, operate automated test equipment, troubleshoot to the component level, and help improve test procedures. U.S.

Qualifications

  • BS with 4–8 years of relevant experience or MS with 2–6 years.
  • Experience with electronic assembly testing including In-circuit Functional Testers.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools.
  • Experience developing test code in LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic/electro-mechanical assemblies with standard test equipment.
  • Proficient in production control processes and documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for final secret clearance.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and manufacturing docs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, test, manufacturing engineers) to define requirements and develop test hardware/software.
  • Prepare and deploy test hardware for production testing; coordinate with suppliers for hardware manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement test software (using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python) for production assemblies.
  • Set up and operate manual/automated test equipment for functional, environmental, and life tests.
  • Identify and mitigate test readiness issues; troubleshoot assemblies to the component level using standard test equipment.
  • Analyze test results, recommend corrective actions, and suggest improvements to test procedures and assembly processes.
  • Use schematic capture tools for hardware design; create and maintain manufacturing documents, work instructions, and inventory reports.
  • Work on a range of products for both military and commercial customers.
Key Skills & Tools
  • Test equipment: Multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, RF analyzers
  • Software: Python, NI LabVIEW, TestStand, LabVIEW
  • Schematic capture tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium)
  • Production documentation and control systems
Basic Qualifications
  • Candidate should posses a BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Testing Experience: Experience with electronic assembly testing, including In-circuit Functional Testers.
  • Hardware Design: Proficiency with schematic capture tools.
  • Software Development: Experience developing test code in NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot electronic/electro-mechanical assemblies using standard test equipment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in production control processes, document/spreadsheet creation for manufacturing.
  • Documentation: Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a final secret clearance.

  • RF Knowledge: Understanding of RF test equipment (Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Generators
