Job summary

NovaTech, LLC is seeking an Electronics & Maintenance Technician to program, troubleshoot, repair, and operate PCB and machine shop equipment on the Bethlehem manufacturing floor. You will serve as the on-floor SME, providing real‑time technical advisory support to production operators and contributing to prototyping and NPI efforts.

The role supports a 4‑day shift (6:00 am–4:30 pm) with hours varying by service needs.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or trade certification in Electronics.
  • 5+ years of progressive hands-on electronics maintenance in manufacturing.
  • 3+ years troubleshooting electro-mechanical production equipment.
  • Hands-on programming experience with electronics manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with solder stencil printers, AOI, reflow ovens and P&P systems.
  • Prior experience providing technical training to operators (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Program, configure, and prove-out new product setups on electronics manufacturing equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and work from schematics, diagrams, and drawings.
  • Operate and adjust complex manufacturing equipment to maintain quality and throughput.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and perform root cause analysis.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs and update PM records.
  • Provide on-floor technical guidance and operator training.
  • Support engineering during prototyping and NPI phases.

Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Electronics & Maintenance Technician is a skilled technical role responsible for programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating production equipment (printed circuit board equipment and machine shop) to ensure consistent quality and uptime on the manufacturing floor. Serving as NovaTech's primary on-floor subject matter expert, this position provides real-time technical advisory support to production operators and plays an active role in new product development through prototyping and follow-on technical assistance. The ideal candidate combines deep electro-mechanical expertise with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This position supports the production floor working a 4 day shift of 6 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may vary due to necessity to service equipment when not in use. Flexibility is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Programming & Operation
  • Program, configure, and prove-out initial new product setups on electronics manufacturing equipment including solder stencil printers, AOI machines, reflow ovens, and pick and place systems
  • Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Operate and adjust complex manufacturing equipment to maintain production quality and throughput
  • Demonstrate equipment setup, configuration, and adjustment procedures for floor operators and production personnel
Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions using schematics, ladder logic, computer programs, and diagnostic instrumentation
  • Conduct repairs and modifications using programming interfaces, hand tools, and electronic test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime
  • Verify production quality following repair or preventive maintenance prior to returning equipment to service
Preventive Maintenance
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) plans across all production equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Perform required firmware, software, and hardware updates to sustain equipment performance and reliability
  • Maintain accurate PM records and flag equipment trends that may indicate future failure risk
Technical Support & Operator Training
  • Serve as the primary on-floor technical advisor and escalation point for production operators on all equipment-related matters
  • Provide real-time guidance to operators on proper equipment operation, parameter settings, and in-process troubleshooting
  • Design and deliver formal and informal training to production personnel on equipment operation, adjustments, and safe use
  • Support engineering during product prototyping, testing, and new product introduction (NPI) phases
  • Participate in manufacturer-led technical training programs and apply new knowledge to improve site capabilities
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete accurate, thorough, and timely service reports, maintenance logs, and activity documentation
  • Adhere to all safe working practices, OSHA guidelines, and NovaTech safety policies at all times
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
BACKGROUND & ABILITIES
Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree or trade school certificate in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or a related technical discipline or
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of progressive hands‑on electronics maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment – Required
  • 3+ years of direct experience troubleshooting and repairing electro‑mechanical production equipment – Required
  • Hands‑on programming experience with electronics manufacturing equipment such as solder stencil printers, AOI machines, reflow ovens, and pick and place systems – Preferred
  • Experience programming or operating selective soldering machines and board washers – PreferredPrior experience providing technical training or instruction to production operators – Preferred
Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings – Required
  • Hands‑on proficiency with electronic test and measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers) – Required
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and equipment configuration files – Required
  • Methodical documentation skills; ability to produce accurate, complete, and timely service and maintenance records – Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams – Required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 General Industry certification – Preferred
  • Familiarity with database technologies and maintenance management systems (CMMS) – Preferred
