Job summary

V2X is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Technician, Field Services for our Huntsville, Alabama location. The position requires an active Secret clearance and on-site work.

The technician tests, repairs, and determines disposition of electronic systems and components, conducts QA/QC, and maintains records to ensure the complete system is FMC prior to shipment. You may supervise the shop in the lead technician's absence and support installations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA related to this job description, combination of experience, training and education may be considered in lieu of degree.
• AA/AS with 5-8 years’ experience or 9-11 years experience without a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the lead technician when needed.
• Act as a supervisor when the lead is absent.
• Inventory all systems as they are received.
• Conduct full physical/visual inspections of all system components to ensure that systems are complete IAW standards.
• Conduct functional checks of system operating hardware/software to identify and correct any deficiencies or system faults found to ensure the systems are ready for deployment.
• Performs the installation and testing of software releases, and system upgrades and perform Burn-In of sensor equipment to ensure full operability IAW with OEM specifications, and interfaces with OEM on unusual system anomalies.
• Must have knowledge of and experience in the utilization of operating systems and database management systems.
• Perform repairs based on results from troubleshooting. If equipment cannot be repaired, request disposition.
• Capture equipment status (disposition and condition code) in COLTS.
• Interact with engineering during the integration of products and software.
• Provide identification of any functional issues and provide recommended solutions.
• After testing, attach proper documentation to components (DD 1574-1 Serviceable Tag, or equivalent).
• Perform Preventative Maintenance checks and services in accordance with Government requirements and OEM documentation as part of Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS).
• Record equipment status information and data to reflect current FMC, Partially Mission Capable (PMC) and Non-Mission Capable (NMC) status for tested equipment into COLTS.
• Troubleshoots fiber optic cabling and electrical wiring.
• Conduct site surveys at locations for new equipment installations.

V2X is seeking a Electronics Maintenance Technician, Field Services for our Huntsville, Alabama location. The position is required to have an active Secret clearance and work onsite.

The Electronics Maintenance Technician is responsible for: testing, repair, and determining disposition of electronic systems and components. The Technician conducts Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) operations, enforces internal QC standards, performs evaluation and functional testing of system assets prior to shipping and maintains records of component status and all work performed. The position develops and Implements processes and procedures to effectively test and configure products, systems, and components to ensure the complete system is fully mission capable (FMC) prior to shipment. The role relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish a variety of tasks to include utilizing electrical test equipment (i.e., digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes) to meet program goals.

The Electronics Maintenance Technician will be responsible for conducting site surveys at various locations to ensure proper placement and installation of equipment. The Electronics Maintenance Technician will be expected to assist the lead technician when needed and to act as the shop supervisor when the lead is absent.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance section is responsible for ensuring that all major mechanical and electronic assemblies are FMC before entering the shipping process. The Electronics Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following activities and processes:

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• 12+ years of applicable experience related to military or Government contract work.
• Experience in a prior leadership role(s).
• Ability to work under limited supervision with strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multi task, prioritize work, and be adaptive to change.
• Experience interacting with vendors and government customers.
• Ability to interpret drawings, wiring and block diagrams.
• Experience troubleshooting and replacing Line Replaceable Units (LRU).
• Able to test electronic system wiring and fiber optics cabling utilizing wiring diagrams and associated drawings.
• Experienced in the operation and theory of Electro-Optical / Infrared (EO/IR) camera systems operation.
• Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be fork lift certified or able to pass a certification test for the operation of a forklift.
• Able to operate manual material handling equipment: pallet jack, push carts, etc.
• Must be able to withstand physical demands of a warehouse environment: hot/cold temperatures, bending, squatting, lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds, and standing for long periods of time.
• Experience conducting site surveys for program equipment.

Travel:

• This position may require up to 50% travel. Travel may be CONUS or OCONUS.

Clearance Requirement:

• The position requires an active and current Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with COLTS.
• Knowledge of the PSS-G tower system: components, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the IBD-K and RDISS components, setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience with EO/IR camera operation.
• Experience operating software-based systems utilizing Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs).
• Experience surveying and planning the install of electrical and communication cables on, inside and between buildings.
• Experience pulling and installing electrical and communication cables in conduit, through walls and overhead.

Working Environment:

• Core Business Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm. Core hours are established at the discretion of the Government and are subject to change at any time based on mission requirements.
• Will perform work at a government facility.
