Job summary

Veoneer Safety Systems USA in Southfield, MI, is seeking an Electronics Lab Technician to support prototype development and validation of automotive electronic safety systems. You will perform PCB rework, assembly, testing and troubleshooting of electronic modules and sensors in a fast-paced, ISO-driven environment.

The role requires soldering, reading schematics and datasheets, using oscilloscopes and meters, and maintaining an ESD-safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• 6 years of related automotive industry experience.
• Proficient with oscilloscope, meters and other test equipment.
• Able to solder and inspect PCBA’s.
• Familiar with ISO 16949 procedures.
• Maintain a clean and ESD-safe work area.
• Strong teamwork and written/verbal communication.
• Ability to read schematics and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• PCB Rework: Solder/desolder fine pitched components and BGA packages.
• Efficiently assemble, test & troubleshoot/repair electronic modules and sensors.
• Utilize hand tools, microscope, and soldering equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly of prototype systems and crash modules.
• Read schematics and component datasheets and assist in PCB bring up and debug.
• Work from product specifications and written/verbal instructions.

What you'll do:
