Job summary

Job description

Position Overview

The Electronics Equipment Technician II provides technical support on a daily basis in a training or functional environment, including but not limited to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, system installation, removal and configuration, troubleshooting, inventory reporting, and quality management system support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
  • Use judgement to plan work sequence and select tools and testing instruments.
  • Perform testing utilizing oscilloscopes, digital volt/ohm meters, and other test equipment.
  • Conduct fact‑finding and analysis to address routine problems and apply established procedures.
  • Research routine user problems and modify existing systems when clear precedents exist.
  • Assist higher‑level technicians and provide guidance to lower‑level technicians.
Essential Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
  • Radar training (e.g., AN/TPQ, AN/MPQ, AN/MJQ, Ku Radio Frequency System, Low Quadrant Elevation Multi‑Function RF System, Forward Area Air Defense, Air and Missile Defense Workstation, etc.).
  • Electronic training as required.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
Physical Demands

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment and is required to sit and use hands to handle objects, operate tools, and use computer controls. Occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
