Job summary

Yurigravity is seeking an electronics engineer to develop, manufacture, and optimize electronics for space missions. You will lead flight preparation of electronics components, liaise with internal and external partners, and ensure integration with missions teams.

You will prototype flight hardware, manage supplier collaboration, and design new electronics while developing specifications and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Completed Technician, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in low-voltage power electronics; experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or custom PCBs.
  • Familiarity with PCB design using KiCad or similar tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ideally experience in embedded software development.
  • Familiarity with EN9100 and ECSS standards; prior exposure preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication; independent work style.
  • Fluent English; German proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

WORKING AT YURI IS LIKE:
YOUR MISSION:

Your role involves the development, manufacturing and optimization of electronics for ongoing projects with agencies such as ESA, LSA and DLR, as well as commercial projects. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all electronics-related matters within the mission team, liaising with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and external partners. A key responsibility will be overseeing the flight preparation of electronics components for our space missions.

YOUR TASKS:
  • Create and refine prototypes, breadboards, and flight model for life science experiments conducted in space.
  • Manage the manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of prototype and flight electronics, collaborating with external suppliers.
  • Design new electronics for our products.
  • Develop electronic specifications, design documentation, and performance evaluations.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide electronics support to the Missions Team, including supporting embedded software development.
  • Implement state-of-the-art technologies and new innovative solutions.
  • Actively contribute your ideas and concepts.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Completed Technician, Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in low-voltage power electronics, including experience with platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ideally custom solutions with self-designed PCBs.
  • Familiarity with PCB design using software like Kicad or similar tools.
  • Availability for travels
  • Ideally, experience in embedded software development for electronic solutions.
  • We are aiming for EN9100 certification this year and work to ECSS standards; ideally, you have worked to these norms/standards before.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with a supportive, well-organised, and independent work approach.
  • Fluent English communication skills, and ideally proficient in German.
