Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking an Electrical Engineer on the Avionics team to manage current and future hardware designs for Vulcan rockets. Responsibilities span guidance, RF, power, instrumentation, flight controls and EMC, with hands-on system integration and tests.

You will develop requirements, analyze battery use, and review data across software and hardware. Collaboration with manufacturing, subcontractors and launch sites is essential for mission success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related technical field with relevant coursework.
  • At least 2 years of related job experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and/or managing requirements, including functional, physical, and environmental test.
  • Perform system analysis including battery consumption analysis, voltage drop, fusing, etc.
  • Support/lead system integration of new avionics components development.
  • Performing software and hardware data review.
  • Address, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that occur during launch site related to hardware.
  • Coordinate with engineers, manufacturing, subcontractors and the launch site to improve designs.

Job Overview & Responsibilities
  • The Avionics team for Vulcan development is responsible for developing new components and system integrations for future upgrades to the Vulcan vehicle. As an Electrical Engineer on the Avionics team, you will be managing the current and/or future hardware designs for all ULA rockets. Responsibilities may align to some or all the below:

Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • At least 2 years of experience of related job experience
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering tools
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated to manage and close on assignments
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) including requirements documentation and presentations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Available to work launch-related issues outside of business hours and available to travel if required

Summary Salary Range (forULA - Denver only):

$81,695.00 - $136,159.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
