Job summary

micro1 is a leading AI data lab that trains frontier models by leveraging expert knowledge across domains including electronics, robotics, and automation. We hire Electronics Engineers on a remote contractor basis to review and annotate robotic video data for AI training and evaluation.

No prior AI experience is required—your domain expertise and ability to communicate technical observations clearly are what matter to contribute to high-quality AI systems.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering required.
  • Experience with electrical system design, analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Robotics/automation/mechatronics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and annotate robotic system videos, providing accurate and insightful feedback based on electrical and electronic system observations.
  • Analyze and interpret complex electrical schematics and system diagrams as they pertain to robotic systems.
  • Identify, document, and explain electrical or electronic events, anomalies, or system functions visible in video materials.
  • Draft clear, concise written annotations and explanatory notes for machine learning specialists and fellow engineering experts.
  • Contribute to the refinement of guidelines for video annotation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with technical teams to clarify requirements and share insights on electronic systems in robotics.

Role Title: Electronics Engineer

micro1 is engaging Electronics Engineers to contribute their expertise to a customer's innovative project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work
  • Review and annotate robotic system videos, providing accurate and insightful feedback based on electrical and electronic system observations.
  • Analyze and interpret complex electrical schematics and system diagrams as they pertain to robotic systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Substantial expertise in electrical system design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience with robotics, automation systems, or mechatronic systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency interpreting electrical schematics and documenting technical observations.
  • Experience annotating or analyzing technical multimedia (video, images) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a remote, collaborative environment.
