Job summary

VIAVI Solutions is seeking an Electronics Technician in Virginia to solder, assemble, test, and inspect electronic devices and components. You will load firmware, perform functional testing, and disassemble/rework as needed while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading drawings, manual soldering, and familiarity with IPC-610/IPC-620. Experience with production and prototype assemblies is preferred, with a focus on quality documentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of electronics assembly experience.
• Familiarity with IPC-610 and IPC-620 quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Proficient in manual soldering and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components into sub-assemblies or units according to drawings.
• Perform functional testing and in-process inspections.
• Load firmware and troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies per specs.
• Document changes and maintain quality records.
• Maintain safe, clean workstation and follow ESD guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve issues.
