Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. in Lakehurst, NJ seeks an Electrical Engineering Technician to support DoD acquisitions, calibrations, and test equipment lifecycle management.

The role focuses on technical research, documentation, and communication across acquisition teams, not hands-on design or maintenance. The candidate should apply practical electrical/electronic knowledge, interpret specifications, and prepare clear procurement-related materials for government procurements.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical/electrical background with ability to understand specs and evaluate products.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) Secret clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Experience with government or DoD acquisition processes is preferred.
• Experience with COTS market research and procurement documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and translate into criteria for acquiring equipment and test systems.
• Conduct detailed COTS market research using multiple sources.
• Compare products based on specs, capability, availability, lifecycle, and cost; document results.
• Coordinate with engineers, SMEs, vendors, and acquisition staff.
• Develop and maintain technical procurement packages (SOWs, market research, evaluations, IGCE inputs).
• Support CD ACL/ SAP/ IDIQ documentation as applicable.
• Prepare PowerPoint briefings, spreadsheets, and reports communicating procurement status and actions.
