Job summary

CACI's Mastodon Design in Rochester, NY, seeks a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the hardware group across Power Supply, Digital, RF, and Sustainment. You will hire and mentor a multidisciplinary team and set priorities with stakeholders to keep development and test moving across product lines.

You will partner with Mechanical, Systems, Product Management, and Operations to align schedules and budgets, while driving standards, reviews, and continuous improvement in hardware engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years hardware engineering experience with leadership.
• 3+ years of management experience with direct reports.
• Experience in power supply, digital hardware, RF/communications, or sustaining engineering.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers/technicians.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize across multiple programs.
• Willingness to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary hardware engineering group spanning Power Supply, Digital, RF, and Sustainment.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering staff across the hardware team.
• Set priorities and direction for hardware activities with Mechanical, Hardware, Systems Engineering, and Product Management.
• Oversee sustaining engineering, obsolescence management, ECOs, and post-production support.
• Manage staffing and resources across concurrent programs and product lines.
• Align schedules, budgets, and deliverables with program needs with PM/Operations.
• Drive hardware design standards and design review processes.
• Collaborate with supply chain on components and long-lead planning.
• Support proposals with hardware write-ups and BoEs.
• Escalate complex hardware issues spanning power, digital, RF, and comms.
• Promote safety, quality, and test culture within the team.
