Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Point Mugu, CA is seeking an Electronic Technician to support NAWCWD on site in the Marine Corps Spectrum Integration Lab (MCSIL), working on hardware such as Intrepid Tiger II.

The candidate will apply 5+ years of related experience to fabricate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain avionics and weapon systems, reading drawings and using Fluke meters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers under US military standards.

Qualifications

• Reading mechanical and electrical drawings to fabricate, test, and maintain weapon/avionics systems.
• Troubleshooting using diagnostic test equipment (standard and specialized).
• Soldering wiring and replacing coaxial, USB, Ethernet connectors per military specs.
• Troubleshooting system failures with test gear for Electronic Combat Systems.
• Developing processes to simplify production items and ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, test, and maintain avionics hardware on site at NAWCWD Point Mugu.
• Troubleshoot using Fluke meters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• Set up, calibrate, and test RF equipment to manufacturer specs.

The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) on site in Point Mugu, CA. This is your opportunity to work in a technically advanced, positive, and productive environment in the Marine Corps Spectrum Integration Lab (MCSIL) working on hardware such as Intrepid Tiger II.

Required Skills

• Experience reading/interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings for the purpose of fabricating, testing, and maintaining weapon/avionics systems.
• Experience conducting troubleshooting using standard and unique diagnostic test equipment.
• Experience constructing, repairing, splicing, soldering wiring, and replacing coaxial, USB, Ethernet, and electrical connectors per military specification standards.
• Experience troubleshooting system failures using test equipment such as Fluke meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and U.S. military test equipment for Electronic Combat Systems.
• Experience developing and executing established processes to simplify difficult-to-manufacture production line items, streamline procedures, and ensure accuracy and completeness of products.
• Experience setting up, calibrating, and testing RF equipment and components to compare against manufacturer specifications.
• Experience using precision measurement instruments such as Agilent Spectrum Analyzer (26.5 GHz), RF Signal Generator (20 GHz), Signal Source Analyzer (7 GHz), Noise Figure Analyzer (26.5 GHz), Dual Channel Power Meter, and Digital Oscilloscope (500 MHz).

• Current Secret clearance required to start.
• 5+ years of experience.

Salary

The likely salary range for this position is $92,650 - $125,350. Salary will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
