Job summary

NexTier Completion Solutions Inc. is seeking an Electronic Technician to maintain hydraulic fracturing equipment, perform field repairs, and install electronic systems. The role requires strong troubleshoot skills, the ability to read schematics, and a commitment to safety.

You will travel to sites for emergency repairs, document all activities, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring quality and reliability of equipment before deployment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular and scheduled maintenance on hydraulic fracturing equipment.
  • Repair equipment in the field using hand and power tools.
  • Install and configure electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring and electronic components.
  • Travel to locations for emergency repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using schematics and manuals.
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Test equipment at the manufacturer's facility before deployment.
  • Document repairs, inspections, and testing.
  • Maintain a safe work environment per QHSE requirements.
  • Mentor and train less experienced Electronic Technicians.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Detailed Description:


  • Performs regular and scheduled maintenance on hydraulic fracturing equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.

  • Conducts repairs on equipment as needed in the field using hand and power tools.

  • Installs and configures electronic and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation.

  • Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical, and electronic components.

  • Travels to locations to perform emergency repairs on electronics and equipment.

  • Diagnoses electrical problems and troubleshoots using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs.

  • Inspects, operates, and tests equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions.

  • Tests equipment at the manufacturer's facility to ensure it meets company standards before field deployment.

  • Documents repairs, inspections, and testing for all equipment.

  • Maintains a safe work environment, adhering to all QHSE requirements at all times.

  • Mentors and trains less experienced Electronic Technicians.

  • Performs other related duties as requested.


Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proficient use of electronic test instruments and tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation such as flow meters, transducers, densimeters, and controllers.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient in using OEM software for configuring and troubleshooting related equipment.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic applications controlled by electronic components and systems.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics/drawings.

  • Knowledge of data transmission protocols and equipment networking.

  • Familiarity with radio communications.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, operations instructions, and policies/procedures.

  • Ability to write reports, simple correspondence, and effectively present information to coworkers, customers, and management.

  • Skilled in reading blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting components.

  • Understanding of basic electrical theory and circuit principles.

  • Works effectively in a positive team environment.

  • Promotes safety awareness and follows quality, health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.


Language Comprehension:

Must understand and speak English at a level sufficient to issue, receive, and respond to both safety and operations-related directions.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience: 0-10 years.
