Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services seeks a qualified technician to install, maintain, repair, test, and modify critical low-voltage systems on a hospital campus. The role emphasizes life-safety, patient care communications, and security systems, with the possibility of rotating shifts as needed.

You will read manuals, schematics, and shop drawings, troubleshoot with electronics and CMMS data, and work with staff to meet deadlines while ensuring safety and compliance. Strong communication is required.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand operation manuals, schematics, blue prints, and shop drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, computers, and software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must follow safety procedures for hand and power tools and for life safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and test critical low-voltage electronic systems and related wiring on hospital campuses.
• Identify and resolve alarm/faults related to life-safety equipment.
• Coordinate with other staff to meet project deadlines and read/interpret maintenance manuals.

Job description

Primarily performs installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and modification of critical low-voltage electronic systems and associated wiring throughout the healthcare campus. Focuses on ensuring the reliability and compliance of systems essential for life safety, patient care communications, and security within the hospital environment. Ability to work rotating shift when needed.

Knowledge of:

• All appropriate safety practices for working with hand and power tools.
• Fire alarm, Life safety, safe operation and repairs.
• NFPA, Federal, TJC, and State regulations
• OSHA safety rules, AHA (Activity Hazard Analysis), LOTO (lockout-tag out).

Ability to:

• Safely perform tasks noted in essential duties.
• Coordinate and work with other staff members to achieve project deadlines.
• Read and comprehend operations and maintenance manuals, schematics, blue prints, and shop drawings.
• Have excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, computers, and software systems.
• Use of computers for checking email, data entry on Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), and training.
• Solely identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment.
• Fabricate items, using hand and power tools.
• Accurately determine time and materials required for a job.
• Must be able to read and understand the signs, signals, and operating instructions in use in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
• Shall be able to understand, read, write and speak English.
• Shall be physically, medically qualified for performing the duties
