Works under, and takes direction from District Maintenance Manager or his designee to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on all electronic systems related to the fracturing process. The electronics technician works in both field and shop settings, in accordance with all company standard operating procedures and EH&S guidelines.
Understand and perform all duties according to company standard operating procedures and in compliance with all regulatory guidelines and EH&S guidelines.
Repair and maintain company equipment including:
Communicate progress of repairs and maintenance to colleagues, service writer and maintenance manager as needed
Perform preventive maintenance on company equipment according to company and manufacturer guidelines
Identify problem areas
Assist in making remedial action plans
Assist in scheduling and costing repairs
Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical equipment problems
Assist in maintaining electrical and electronic parts inventory levels, which includes:
Training of maintenance and operations personnel on electrical systems and control software and hardware
Develop an understanding of fracturing and other oilfield operations.
Perform work in other tasks as directed by manager.
Performs other related duties as required.
Able to read, speak and write English.
Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
Employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; climb up and down stairs;
Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; kneeling; pushing or pulling; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to walk for long distances, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance in order to reach high places.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision color, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must possess good hearing as needed for work and safety compliance. Noise level could be moderate to very loud.
Able to wear common FRC protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
Activities may involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
Normal physical strength & fitness to handle conditions consistent with crude trucking field operations.
Most work schedules will be performed traveling to and working at various field locations within the service territory as required.
Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
Occasionally may drive for three to four hours or more at one time.
Exposure for potential electrical shock exists for this position.
Exposure to hazardous or toxic material may occur.
