Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Electronic Security Project Manager in Manhattan, NY to lead complex electrical security projects from planning through start-up. You will coordinate engineering, installation, and commissioning while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a dynamic, value-driven culture.

You have strong technical PM experience in building automation or electronic security, with leadership skills to mentor teams and maintain budget, schedule, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• Expert project management experience in a technical environment (building automation, fire alarm, or electronic security).
• Advanced coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills with leadership orientation.
• Excellent MS Outlook, Project, Excel, Word & PowerPoint; ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
• Basic knowledge of IT networking principles.
• Advanced financial analytical skills including cost control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, organize and direct, application engineering, field installation and start-up of assigned projects.
• Ensure projects are executed within budgeted cost and time schedules with positive cash flow.
• Interface with the customer to maximize satisfaction, safety, and quality on all projects.
• Position has direct reports, handling high-volume or critical accounts and customers.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Expert project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems).

• Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point skills; solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principals.

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 7-10 years relevant engineering, field service or project management

• 5 years supervisory

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
