Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data applications and pipelines that organize structured and unstructured data for analytics.

You will work with cross-functional teams, guiding data engineers and developers to deploy scalable platforms and enable real-time data processing on mission-driven projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in application development and designing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications at enterprise scale.
  • 5+ years of experience retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data, and building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional, collaborative teams.
  • Experience with real‑time or near real‑time ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience with Python, Java, SQL, Scala, NoSQL, including MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools including Spark, Databricks, ADF, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, Azure Event Hub and Grid, or Kafka.
  • Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to develop scripts or programs that convert various hospital or EHR data into harmonized, analyzable formats, and to support scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.

You Have:

5+ years of experience in application development and designing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications at enterprise scale

5+ years of experience retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data, and building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics

Experience leading cross‑functional, collaborative teams

Experience with Python, Java, SQL, Scala, NoSQL, including MongoDB or Cassandra

Experience with distributed data or computing tools including Spark, Databricks, ADF, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, Azure Event Hub and Grid, or Kafka

Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

Ability to develop scripts or programs that convert various hospital or EHR data into harmonized, analyzable formats, and to support scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

Nice If You Have:

Experience with UNIX and Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting

Experience working on real-time data and streaming applications

Experience with data warehousing using AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake

Experience with Agile engineering practices

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
