Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an experienced EHR Implementation Analyst to lead tasks related to Epic Ambulatory/Outpatient builds, adoption, enhancement, and support. The role encompasses analysis, development, training, testing, go-live, and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities include gathering workflow information, documenting current and future processes, performing testing, and providing remote or on-site end-user support from Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

• Support system upgrades, patches, and monitoring; provide 24x7x365 support as needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for the performance of tasks related to EHR system implementation, adoption, enhancement, and support. This includes but is not limited to analysis, development, training, testing, documentation, go‑live and on‑going support, problem resolution, and maintenance.

Job Duties

• Develop a strong understanding of assigned application(s) and demonstrate proficiency in navigating through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Meet with relevant personnel to gather information and observe workflows.
• Document current and proposed workflows using a flowchart format.
• Identify opportunities and propose solutions to streamline workflow for efficiencies.
• Produce documentation including current and future state workflows, pros/cons, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specifications, build documentation, test plans, project plans, status reports, and transitionary documentation.
• Perform application testing, including scenario‑based, integrated, and parallel testing.
• Apply critical thinking to problem solving and strive to understand the root cause of issues.
• Communicate effectively with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership.
• Provide regular updates regarding work status and demonstrate appropriate issue escalation.
• Complete system build and documentation in accordance with department guidelines and change management policy.
• Actively participate in meetings by listening and providing feedback.
• Prepare training material and conduct training classes in virtual or in‑person settings.
• Adhere to best practices regarding information security.
• Participate in team on‑call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support to assigned areas.
• Provide remote and/or on‑site support as needed to end‑users.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and monitoring.
• Assist in the preparation of department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies.
• Participate in vendor review and selection processes.
• Develop understanding of the integration and technical requirements of peripherals and devices that interface with or integrate with assigned applications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience (Required)
• Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).
• Expertise in Epic Ambulatory/Outpatient build experience (preferred; certification a plus).
• PMP certification (preferred).
• Additional Epic experience (preferred): Healthy Planet, Compass Rose, Research Beacon, Cupid, EpicCare Ambulatory Specialty Modules (e.g., Bones, Kaleidoscope, Dermatology).
• Skills: Communication, critical thinking, interpersonal communication.

Work Environment & Benefits

Work from home (Pennsylvania) with days shift in the United States. The role is a regular, exempt position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40. Work is typically performed in an office environment, but remote and on‑site support is available as needed. Full‑time or part‑time positions provide health care benefits from day one, including vision, dental, and domestic partner coverage.
