Job summary

Milacron in Batavia, OH is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to design, customize, and test control system software for injection molding and extrusion machinery. You will adapt baseline software for production machines and customer applications, and collaborate with global engineering teams.

The role involves developing in C#, Python, JavaScript, and building web-based HMI solutions, while supporting PLC environments with Structured Text and C++.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience in industrial automation, machine controls, embedded systems, or related applications.
• Proficiency in C, C#, Python, and JavaScript, including software design, debugging, testing, and maintenance.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience developing HMI applications and machine control software.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• PLC programming experience using IEC 61131-3 languages, includingStructured Text and Function Block Diagram, preferred.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, or serial communications preferred.
• B&R Automation Studio or Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 experience preferred.
• Qt framework or embedded Linux development experience preferred.
• Injection molding or plastics industry experience preferred.
• Experience with AI-enabled engineering tools preferred.
• Cloud-connected industrial systems or Industry 4.0 experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and hydraulic prints preferred.
• Pascal experience preferred.
