Job summary

Gavial Engineering & Manufacturing in California is seeking an Electronics Assembler skilled in soldering to build electronic components, subassemblies, and cabinets. You will read production orders, follow drawings, and ensure parts are properly aligned and joined.

The role requires precise handwork, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work with standard test procedures. Prior assembly experience and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Soldering experience required; J-STD-001 preferred.
• Experience reading production drawings and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to solder components.
• Read work orders, follow production drawings and instructions.
• Position and align parts in jig, fixture, or holding device.
• Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or join parts.
• Mount assembled components on chassis or PC boards.
• Connect component lead wires to PC or route wires between components.
• Manufacture cables and wiring harnesses.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
• Assemble and attach hardware to assemblies.
• Perform intermediate assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, color coding.
• Conduct online inspection to ensure parts meet specs.

Assembler Job Summary:

Gavial has an Electronics Assembler position open that requires Soldering experience that is used in the process of assembling electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties.

Assembler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to solder components
• Assembler must read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, and/or receive and follow verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
• Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
• Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
• Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel or printed wiring boards.
• Assembler connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
• Manufactures cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable and fiber-optic cable.
• Assembler installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
• Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
• Assembler performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies.
• Performs online inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in electronic assembly or a related field is preferred.
• Electronics Soldering experience required (work assembly or hobby related experience). J-STD-001 soldering certified preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
• Soldering experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
