Job summary

Washington State University’s Franceschi Microscopy & Imaging Center seeks an Electron Microscope Technician to support observation, imaging, and ultrastructural study of specimens. You will assist users, teach, and help develop new methods on the WSU Pullman campus.

This full-time, on-site role offers a monthly salary of $5,111–$6,870 and a benefits package including paid leave, holidays, health/dental/life insurance, retirement, and tuition waiver.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field and two years of electron microscopy laboratory experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with electron or confocal microscopy preferred.
• Ability to supervise and mentor students and post-doctoral fellows.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electron microscopy techniques for independent examination of materials.
• Serve as technical consultant to faculty and investigators with diagnostic problems or research projects.
• Develop and apply new techniques or procedures applicable to diagnostic ultrastructural pathology or research.
• Direct and instruct post-doctoral fellows, students and student helpers.
