Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electron Beam Welder for the 2nd shift to join the team in Hawthorne. The role focuses on EB welding, assembly, and fabrication of Raptor combustion device hardware and related components.

Responsibilities include supporting tooling optimization, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance with reliable, precise workmanship. Candidates should have aerospace welding exposure and good blueprint reading skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of EB welding, TIG welding, CNC operation or mechanical assembly experience.
• Experience with aerospace welding and reading blueprints is preferred.

ELECTRON BEAM WELDER (RAPTOR COMBUSTION DEVICES) - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• EB weld, assemble, and fabricate all combustion device hardware (Raptor V3 Fuel Stack)
• Assist engineering in development of new weld schedules and optimization of existing tooling
• Complete machine preventative maintenance and provide subject matter expertise to troubleshoot issues
• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
• Perform work according to procedures, specifications and test instructions
• Read and interpret technical drawings, and follow detailed work instructions
• Use various mechanical tools without instruction
• Perform other related duties for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
• Operate forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of experience in EB welding, TIG Welding, CNC machine operation, and/or mechanical assembly

Preferred Skills And Experience

• 5+ years of experience in welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, inconel, aluminum or titanium
• Experience with aerospace electron beam welding
• Experience with aerospace TIG welding
• Knowledge of weld assembly tolerances and pre-weld cleanliness requirements
• Proficient in blue print reading and lay out
• Knowledge and experience completing welds that pass visual before being X-rayed or dye penned
• AWS D17.1 and D1.2 certification
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
• This is a 2ND shift role working from 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM, overtime and weekends as needed
• Able to lift a min. of 25 lbs. unassisted
• Able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
• Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces

Compensation And Benefits

Pay Range:

Level 1: $23 - $27

Level 2: $26 - $33

Level 3: $31 - $38

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
