Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking 4 Electromechanical Technicians for our Woodville, TX facility. You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain both mechanical and electrical systems to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

You will work across conveyors, gearboxes, motors, MCCs, VFDs, sensors and automation components, with emphasis on safe, code-compliant operations. You should have at least 5 years in industrial maintenance, a HS diploma or GED, and strong problem-solving skills in mechanical

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing/ heavy industry.
  • HS diploma or GED; technical degree/training preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, MCCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to safely operate hand/power tools, rigging equipment, forklifts and lifts.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS software.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild and maintain mechanical equipment ( conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, etc ).
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480 volts per safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot 24 V and 4-20 mA circuits, sensors and thermocouples.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, MCCs, motor starters, relays, contactors and VFDs.
  • Read drawings and schematics; use diagnostic tools to identify failures.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective and emergency maintenance.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning and startup of new equipment.
  • Document maintenance in the CMMS and communicate status with ops.

Job description

A manufacturing client in Woodville, Texas is looking to bring on 4 Electromechanical Technicians to their team via direct hire due to increased work load. This person will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving both mechanical and electrical systems throughout the manufacturing facility. This position bridges traditional millwright responsibilities with industrial electrical maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve plant performance. This position performs advanced troubleshooting of motors, VFDs, motor control centers, sensors, electrical components, and automated equipment while continuing to perform mechanical repairs.

Day To Day:

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial mechanical equipment including conveyors, pellet mills, hammermills, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, fans, blowers, rotary valves, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and other production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480 volts in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 24 volts electrical circuits, 4-20 mA circuits, and sensors/thermocouples.
  • Utilize Voltmeter, Megger, and 4-20mA clamp meter.
  • Diagnose and repair electric motors, motor starters, overloads, relays, contactors, motor control centers (MCCs), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Install, align, and replace electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, sprockets, chains, belts, and other mechanical power transmission components.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, compressors, regulators, and associated controls.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters (megger), laser alignment equipment, and other diagnostic tools to identify equipment failures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting automated production equipment, sensors, proximity switches, photo eyes, level controls, and other industrial instrumentation.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and plant improvement projects.
  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance inspections, equipment documentation, and maintenance records accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with root cause failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and increasing production reliability.
  • Support planned outages, scheduled shutdowns, emergency repairs, and after-hours maintenance activities as required.
  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, fall protection, and other applicable safety procedures while performing assigned work.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Production, and fellow Maintenance personnel regarding equipment status, repair progress, and operational concerns.
  • Mentor and assist less experienced maintenance employees as assigned while promoting safe work practices and quality workmanship.

What We Are Looking For:

  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required but technical degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting both mechanical and industrial electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, MCCs, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and industrial power transmission equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS software preferred.

Salary of $75,000 - $84,000 annually + full health benefits and PTO. Relocation assistance is provided if needed
