Job summary

Imperial is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Winona, MO. You will inspect, repair, and maintain production equipment, reading schematics and using tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and blueprints.
  • Capable of using tools, multimeters, and diagnostic instruments safely.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation and drawings.
  • Able to work under time pressure in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electronic issues.
  • Repair or replace worn parts including motors, belts, relays, wiring, and sensors.
  • Read schematics and blueprints to support repairs.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, alignment, and calibration of components.
  • Assist with setup, installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with operators to identify recurring issues and improve reliability.
  • Maintain maintenance records and parts usage via digital or manual systems.
  • Support general facility maintenance including plumbing, HVAC, and coordination with contractors.

Full Time
Location: Winona, MO
Hours: 2nd Shift (2:15pm - 10:30pm CT) (flexible; 1.5x OT eligible)

What You’ll be Doing

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and facility equipment to support safe, efficient operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electronic issues across embroidery, screen printing, and related production equipment.
  • Repair or replace worn or failed parts including motors, belts, bearings, relays, wiring, controls, sensors, pneumatic components, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, repair manuals, and technical drawings to support maintenance and repair work.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production hours to minimize downtime and protect output schedules.
  • Complete cleaning, lubrication, alignment, adjustment, calibration, and inspection of critical machine components.
  • Assist with equipment setup, installation, testing, and commissioning for new or upgraded machinery.
  • Partner with operators and supervisors to identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements that reduce breakdowns and improve reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair history, and parts usage through digital or manual tracking methods.
  • Support general facility maintenance needs as required, which may include basic plumbing, painting, flooring repair, HVAC support, and coordination with outside contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

What We Need

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, wiring, bearings, belts, gears, pneumatics, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, diagnostic tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, manuals, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under time pressure in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through, attention to detail, and quality mindset.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with production teams.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and temperature variation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical/vocational training or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting equipment in apparel decoration, textile, printing, or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems, maintenance software, or CMMS tools.
  • Basic PLC, drive, sensor, or automated control systems knowledge.
  • OSHA, electrical safety, or lockout/tagout training or certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a computer or workstation
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and keyboards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via electronic communication
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including walking, bending, and reaching as needed
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read screens, documents, and reports
