Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to design and integrate hardware systems across multiple sites in the United States. The role requires a STEM degree with relevant experience and an active TS/SCI clearance.

You will participate in system-level testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, with potential travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations. Responsibilities include refining drawings, supporting deployment, and enhancing performance through design modifications.

This position can be based out of Linthicum MD, Fairfax VA, or Morrisville NC. CONUS and OCONUS travel possible.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on the design and integration of hardware systems ensuring adherence to changing requirements and specifications.
  • Finalize/update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment and integration of compute equipment into a shelter for deployment.
  • Experience/interest in power/cooling or site construction and traveling to support installation and configuration events would be a plus.
  • Participate in system-level testing and verification processes, ensuring hardware meets all specified requirements and standards.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and modifications on existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Utilize clear technical writing to document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop design specifications and validation plans.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude in meetings with cross-functional teams, demonstrating initiative and professionalism while engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Position may require occasional travel to support field activities and hardware deployment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Electromechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field.
  • Principal Electromechanical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application.
  • Experience with hardware design and integration processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of requirement changes on hardware design.
  • Familiarity with power, RF, and fiber electrical signal principles and applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with complex system architectures and hardware validation procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and their applications in communication systems.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced engineering environment with a focus on field support operations is desirable.
Salary
  • Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $137,600.00
  • Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
