Job summary

Integrated Solutions for Systems (IS4S) is seeking an Electromagnetic Warfare Systems Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Aberdeen, MD (also Auburn, AL). You will design, develop, integrate, and deploy EW solutions supporting Army and Joint missions.

The role requires experience in EW and RF systems, interoperability, and software documentation. Travel to customer engagements and occasional non-standard hours are included.

Qualifications

  • Experience defining integrations, including identifying existing pathways or developing new and feasible pathways, that enable interoperability

  • Experience developing software documentation and system engineering artifacts, including architecture descriptions, algorithm descriptions, system/subsystem descriptions, interface control documents (ICDs), application programming interfaces (APIs)
  • Have familiarity with programming languages and software design
  • Possess knowledge of computing platforms and environments, particularly cloud-based environments, computer network protocols, routing, and IP-based communications
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal direction
  • Must be able to travel to support customer engagements, integration and testing in live environments, occasionally working non-standard hours to match exercise schedules
  • Must be able to lift and carry computing and networking equipment in support of transit and installation
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Description:IS4S is seeking an Electromagnetic Warfare Systems Engineer in Auburn, AL or Aberdeen, MD to assist design, development, integration, and deployment of integrated, multi-domain EW solutions supporting Army and Joint warfighting functions. The person or persons filling this position will join an existing, multi-disciplinary team to perform design and system engineering activities supporting Command and Control (C2) and EW operations that enhance our nation’s security. Responsibilities include the following:



  • Understanding EW operations across warfighting functions to drive capability concept development, implementation, and integration

  • Working with government and industry partners to identify integration paths and interoperability needs between EW and other systems

  • Support software architecture design, creating use cases and user stories, requirements definition, capturing implementations, creating test plans, testing, validating performance, and change management

  • Help inform strategic and tactical visions for product and program direction

  • Communicating and interacting with customers, stakeholders, and other companies

Selected applicants will be expected to gain familiarity with the underlying domain (e.g., EW, Fires, PNT) and its role in the larger system of systems to incorporate warfighter needs throughout the solution. They will also integrate into an existing team that provides support and to ensure designs and solutions conform to and enhance the end product.


Required Abilities, Experience, and Skills:

Desired Experience and Skills:



  • Experience with warfighting functions such as Fires, Air and Missile Defense, Intel, and Spectrum Operations in or across ground, sea, air, space, and cyber domains

  • Prior military or government experience with a focus in EW, SIGINT, ELINT, communications, and/or command and control

  • High proficiency programming languages and build tools (e.g., C++, Golang, cmake)

  • Understanding of containerization, management, and software deployment (especially using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm), in cloud to edge compute environments

  • Understanding of tactical networks, including enterprise, satellite, terrestrial, and mobile, ad hoc networks (MANETs)

  • Familiarity with standard DevSecOps practices and platforms (e.g., git, CI/CD pipelines, vulnerability scanning, etc.)
