Job summary

Judge Group, Inc. in Andover, MA is seeking an Engineering Aide/Technician to support mechanical and thermal testing of AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies.

You will build and modify custom test fixtures, assemble test setups, operate laboratory equipment, and collect data for engineering teams. Responsibilities include sourcing parts for fixtures, soldering, wiring, and maintaining calibration of test instruments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 4 to 7 years of experience in an Engineering Aide or Technician role.
• Hands-on experience fabricating parts for laboratory-scale test fixtures using manual machine tools.
• Ability to operate mill drills, band saws, calipers, and gauges for copper/aluminum blocks and heat sinks.
• Soldering components to PCBs and creating wiring/cabling for test setups.
• Familiarity with hardware, fasteners, fittings, and sourcing components from industrial suppliers.
• Knowledge of fluid and temperature measurement devices and techniques, including chillers and thermoelectric cooling plates.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in creating and assembling custom thermal and mechanical test fixtures.
• Support thermal evaluation of AC-DC and DC-DC power supply components.
• Prepare power supply modules for testing with test leads and thermocouples.
• Assemble modules into test fixtures with thermal management and wiring interfaces.
• Set up electrical test equipment to measure voltage, current, power, and temperature.
• Capture thermal and electrical data using semi-automated test equipment.
• Prepare and organize test data for presentation using Excel.
• Maintain inventories and calibration schedules for test equipment.
• Access internal databases for product specs and test information.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot test setups.
