Job summary

TDW is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Trainee for SHiiELD projects in Tulsa, OK. This role supports cleaning, maintenance, assembly, and testing of SHiiELD equipment to meet client expectations.

Responsibilities include disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting at component level, and collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Support teams. Travel up to 20% with some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SHiiELD equipment, tools, and assets are cleaned, maintained, and built to meet client expectations.
  • Disassemble and clean SHiiELD equipment and components for maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical assets at the component level.
  • Conduct recertification assessments of sensors to meet quality standards.
  • Assist technicians by preparing, loading, and unloading equipment for shipping and receiving.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Global Training to obtain new product info and troubleshoot issues.
  • Follow Quality System ISO 9001:2015 instructions and procedures.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time, including overnight stays.

Education

High School Diploma
Associate and/or Bachelor's degree in Electronics
IPC training in Electronics (Assembler)

Electro-Mechanical Technician Trainee - SHiiELD (Finance)

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure SHiiELD equipment, tools, and assets are properly cleaned, maintained, and built to enable successful completion of SHiiELD projects, meeting and/or exceeding the expectations of clients, field technicians, and equipment coordinator.
  • Disassemble and clean SHiiELD equipment, tools, assets, and components in preparation for component maintenance, applying appropriate cleaning procedures based on the specific tool type.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical assets at the individual component level.
  • Conduct thorough recertification assessments of sensors, ensuring compliance with quality standards and performance specifications.
  • Assist service center technicians and field technicians by preparing, loading, and unloading SHiiELD equipment, tools, assets, and support equipment for shipping and receiving as directed by leadership.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Global Training and Support to obtain new product information and troubleshoot design and/or testing issues.
  • Follow directives of the Quality System (ISO 9001:2015) by applying the instructions and procedures of the system as specified in the documents of the Quality Manual, Quality System Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Work requires traveling up to 20.0% of the time, including overnight stays.
Experience
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate and/or Bachelor's degree in Electronics preferred.
  • Certificate of completion in an electronics discipline preferred.
  • Prior electronics experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) training courses: Electronics Assembly for Operators, Wire Harness Assembly for Operators, and J-STD Course preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within electronic technology.
  • Working knowledge of electronic digital and analog circuits and hardware, firmware, and software used in data logging applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to safely and properly use hand tools and small power tools used in the fabrication of electro-mechanical devices.
  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination with the ability to manipulate small electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to lift and hold up to 50 lbs.
