Position is responsible for repairing and installing advanced production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. May mentor and provide support to less experienced mechanics. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes more complicated repairs or adjustments as needed. Must have own hand tools.

This position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling. The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Perform preventative maintenance on advanced/sophisticated production equipment.
2. Perform repairs on production equipment as needed.
3. Perform breakdown analysis.
4. Oversee or perform general housekeeping and upgrade production lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology.
5. Manage outside contractors working on assigned lines.
6. Change lines for package changeovers.
7. Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards.
8. Work independently under limited supervision.
9. Document work schedules and tasks completed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 18 years or older.
2. Pass a technical assessment in maintenance knowledge areas.
3. Experience with basic electrical systems.
4. Experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and systems.
5. Ability to read and apply product manuals and schematics.
6. Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and diagnostics.
7. Ability to read mechanical drawings.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:

• Mechanical systems, compressors, conveyers, electronics, gearing, hydraulics, kinematics, packaging, PLCs, pneumatics, pumps, SERVO systems, teamwork experience.
