Primary Objective:

Responsible for performing reactive and preventative maintenance tasks on precision manufacturing equipment and machinery.

Major Function and Scope:

  1. Services, repairs, adjusts and tests various machinery, devices and equipment related to the manufacturing process.
  2. Ability to learn production equipment processes and operations to aid in machine troubleshooting and operation support.
  3. Collaborates on preventative maintenance planning and executes on tasks with limited supervision.
  4. Identifies warning signs of impending equipment failure in order to assist with parts ordering.
  5. Complies with all company safety rules and procedures. Identifies, advises and implements safety improvements.
  6. Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
  7. Follow all established standard operating procedures.
  8. Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
  9. Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Associate's degree preferred.
  3. 5+ years experience in maintenance of a manufacturing environment preferred, experience with automated production equipment a plus.
  4. Experience in installation and maintenance of various implements, such as pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings, etc.
  5. Knowledge of industrial control systems.
  6. Welding and fabrication skills related to the modification of existing equipment.
  7. Intermediate experience with PLC’s, VFD’s and computers.
  8. Ability to work with automation, production, and computer systems.
  9. Exceptional attention to detail.
  10. Ability to read and utilize mechanical and electrical drawings/diagrams.
  11. Effective communication skills to convey necessary information to fellow technicians, line operators, the Automation Team, managers, and plant leadership.
  12. Ability to work both independently and within a team setting, including communication with various other Departments via radio, phone, and in-person conversations.

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:

This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, variable temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.

Other working conditions may include working 12 hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
