Job summary

MillerKnoll is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform diversified maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades in a manufacturing environment. You will work under the Maintenance Manager, ensuring safe operations while supporting production goals.

The role involves troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and automated equipment, with CMMS reporting and adherence to GMPs. Qualified candidates have experience with PLCs, welding, read schematics, and maintenance best

Qualifications

  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings.
  • Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
  • Welding knowledge with MIG/TIG experience or willingness to learn.
  • Basic PLC systems understanding and ladder logic (Allen Bradley a plus).
  • Proficient in Windows/Office applications; works under GMPs and EHS rules.
  • Demonstrated ability for root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Attend service calls and perform timely repairs to plant equipment.
  • Maintain hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, servo drives and motors.
  • Apply lockout/tagout and other safety procedures during tasks.
  • Use drawings/schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Document repairs in CMMS and support continuous improvement events.

POSITION PROFILE

This position is under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The Electro-Mechanical Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties with minimal supervision from creating a safe work environment to assisting with production equipment troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining in order to support the achievement of MillerKnoll’s business goals and objectives.

DAILY DUTIES
  • Attends to service calls and provides quality workmanship in a timely manner Repairs and maintains plant equipment such as, but not limited to, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment (cylinders, valves, controls, & sensors), conveyor systems, part fixtures, servo drives/motors, electrical motors, automated manufacturing equipment, bearings, safety sensors, motion controls, sewing/textile equipment, control systems, and PLCs Utilizes proper lockout/tagout, arc flash, confined space, and hot work permit procedures to maintain a safe environment while following EHS/regulatory procedures Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently Utilizes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics where applicable to assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and/or repairs Helps with installing, modifying, and/or updating of equipment as required Creates detailed reports of repairs performed on equipment with CMMS Follows and promotes GMPs and other quality programs related to the maintenance department Maintains a clean work/production environment daily and after maintenance work has been performed Participates in Continuous Improvement events including Kaizens Required to work other assigned shifts as to meet business needs Performs other duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Able to read, understand, and utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics Has a forklift license or the willingness/ability to attain and keep one Has welding knowledge/experience or the willingness/ability to become proficient in welding (MIG/TIG) Has a basic understanding of PLC systems & Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley a plus) Possesses interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within the team and the organization Understands and utilizes Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel Possesses a high level of urgency and can work with minimal supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiar with CMMS for Preventative Maintenance data input and Inventory Management (Maximo a plus)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possesses a High school diploma or GED with a technical certification in related field Has 2-5 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience with the ability to work in a team setting or alone Has 2+ years of mechanical, electrical, and PLC experience Has prior troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possesses an Associate Degree in maintenance, mechatronics, or an engineering related discipline Has used Root Cause analysis methodology

Pay: Up to $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
