Job description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Electro-Mechanical Technician, located in Windsor, CT.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanically static and dynamic components using prepared assembly drawings.
• Assemble electrical panels and enclosures including, layout, mounting components, wiring, etc. according to a prepared schematic.
• Modify components using standard machine shop tools.
• Report on progress to management.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Two to three years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly and/or experience with industrial equipment, maintenance.
• Experience with hand tools ex: die grinder, drill, files, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
• Experience with precision measurement tools ex: calipers, height stand, dial indicator, micrometer, etc.
• Experience with electrical fabrication equipment ex: soldering iron, crimping tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree or certificate in a technical discipline such as mechanical, electrical/electronics, software, robotics, or a related field.
• Solidworks (3D Modeling, Drawings, PDM, Simulation preferred) and CAM software.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment ex: forklift, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb and descend a ladder, talk, and hear. The employee will at times be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to the risk of laser radiation. The employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All PPE is provided to ensure a safe working environment.
