Job summary

EmergencyMD in Troy, Ohio, seeks a Facility Maintenance Technician to provide various support for facility maintenance and production equipment. Duties include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, performing preventative maintenance, and relocating machinery as needed.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, with certification in relevant fields preferred and 3–5 years of maintenance experience. Strong knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as maintenance skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in general production maintenance.
• Preferred experience in craft skills including mechanical and electrical.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work.

Job description

Summary

Provide various support to the overall facility maintenance including support for the production lines, installation, fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, relocation, and maintenance of a wide variety of production and related equipment, facility equipment, buildings, and systems.

First Shift: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm Second Shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Duties include the application of one or more craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting, machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, relocate, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facility equipment, buildings, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, furnaces, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, extruders, chemical tanks, production machinery, and instrumentation equipment.
• Install new machinery and equipment and relocate machinery and equipment to accommodate layout changes as required.
• Perform operations such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook‑ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities of all types, including critical tasks requiring extensive dismantling, reassembly, critical adjustment, lubrication, and calibration.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong demonstrable knowledge of electronics, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, machining, and mechanical theory.
• Previous experience supporting an industrial fluid application facility preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi‑task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail essential.
• Require standing for extended periods, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, or crawling as part of duties.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must provide hand tools and tool box.
• Must have valid Forklift Operator's license or pass required training.

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Certification in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and/or mechanical theory.
• 3–5 years' experience in general production maintenance, including craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, relocate, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facility equipment, buildings, and systems at a journeyman level.
