Job summary

Kocher + Beck USA is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team in Lenexa, KS. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and optimizing manufacturing equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and production uptime.

This permanent, full-time position includes 1st–3rd shifts (Mon–Fri; some Saturday work) with a 40-hour week. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and supports continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations and testing to maximize reliability.
  • Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Document maintenance activities and parts usage in CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures across electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and testing to maximize reliability and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, AC/DC circuits, motor controls, sensors and drives.
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams and technical docs.
  • Install and optimize new production equipment and systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering to address root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and LOTO procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

Description

Kocher + Beck USA is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our growing maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and optimizing manufacturing equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and production uptime. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical problems, works well in a collaborative manufacturing environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work that supports continuous improvement.


This is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position with shifts available Monday through Friday:


1st shift: 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.


2nd shift: 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.


3rd shift: 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday


All shifts are 40 hours per week. Saturday work may be required based on equipment and business needs.


Requirements

Essential Responsibilities


  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation equipment failures.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and equipment testing to maximize reliability.

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, AC/DC circuits, motor controls, sensors, drives, and automation systems.

  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Install, commission, and optimize new production equipment and manufacturing systems.

  • Use precision diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, and related tools.

  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Partner with Production and Engineering to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective actions.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash, and company safety policies.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.


Qualifications

Required


  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.

  • 2-5 years of industrial maintenance or electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, AC/DC circuits, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing, kneeling, climbing, or at heights when required.


Preferred


  • Experience with 480V three-phase electrical systems.

  • Experience using a CMMS.

  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, or servo systems.

  • Industrial maintenance certification, journeyman electrician license, or mechatronics training.
