Mullins Cheese, Inc. in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician to service and maintain dairy production equipment at our facility. The role supports a 4th generation family-owned business invested in cutting-edge dairy technology.

You will perform preventive maintenance, electrical and mechanical repairs, and diagnose equipment issues to ensure safe, efficient operations in a dairy production environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational School certification or an associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology; education not required if have sufficient experience.
• Experience may substitute for formal education in some cases.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks and comply with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings remain in good condition.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluids and replace filters as needed.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and document findings.

Description

As a maintenance technician you will perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, insulating, welding; machining; carpentry, rebuilding or replacing pumps, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work using our maintenance management system
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Fill out proper documentation in accordance to customer specification and government agencies
• Aid other employees to maintain a safe process and quality product

Follow Safety Procedures

Comply with all processes and procedures of SQF 2000 to assure a safe, quality product. Maintain clean work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Certification from Vocational School; associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology; education not required if have sufficient experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 years in manufacturing position (with education); 4-10 years of maintenance related position (without education)

Physical Requirements

• Twisting, bending, and squatting with 50lbs object in hand
• Long Periods of Standing and Walking
• Lifting 60 lbs. from the ground
• Good finger/hand/multi-limb dexterity

Schedule

• Rotating Days & Nights 12hr shift. 5am/5pm. 5on, 4 off, 4 on, 5 off, 4 on, 5 off, 5 on
• Weekends & holidays are required

Benefits

• Wage open based upon experience
• Minimum starting at $ 29.00 per hour/$3 shift premium included
• $3.00 Shift Premium 6pm-6am. Monday-Friday. All Day Saturday
• 1.5x on Sundays
• Full-time, 40 – 50 hours Per Week, 1.5x pay over 40 hours 1.5x pay on Sundays and holidays
