Sonoran Sales Company is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. This hands-on role covers preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general plant upkeep on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and production systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade school, or industrial maintenance training preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance, electro‑mechanical maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or comparable experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Working knowledge of industrial motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, electrical diagnostic equipment, and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and other industrial equipment.
• Maintain and repair welding and metal fabrication equipment as applicable.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged mechanical components including bearings, belts, chains, seals, couplings, and related components.
• Assist with equipment installation, setup, alignment, modification, and commissioning.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and work with the Plant Manager and production team to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical equipment, motors, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, and control circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Use appropriate diagnostic equipment, including multimeters and other electrical testing tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and safely replace defective components within the employee's training and qualifications.

Position Summary

Sonoran Sales Company is seeking an experienced and dependable Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of equipment within our manufacturing facility.

This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general plant maintenance on a variety of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and manufacturing systems.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver who can diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs safely and efficiently, and take a proactive approach to preventing equipment failures and production downtime.

Primary Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and other industrial equipment.

Electrical & Controls

• Troubleshoot industrial electrical equipment, motors, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, and control circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Use appropriate diagnostic equipment, including multimeters and other electrical testing tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and safely replace defective components within the employee's training and qualifications.
• Assist with troubleshooting motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other industrial control equipment.
• Identify electrical or control‑system issues requiring specialized or licensed contractor support and communicate those needs to plant management.

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and company maintenance schedules.
• Inspect equipment for abnormal wear, vibration, leaks, overheating, unusual noise, or other indications of potential failure.
• Lubricate, adjust, clean, and service equipment as required.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance and repair records.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective or preventive solutions.
• Help establish and improve preventive maintenance procedures for plant equipment.

Plant & Production Support

• Work closely with the Plant Manager and production personnel to prioritize repairs based on safety and production requirements.
• Assist production employees with equipment troubleshooting and safe equipment operation.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize interruptions to manufacturing schedules.
• Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
• Communicate replacement‑part and repair needs to the Plant Manager before they create unnecessary production delays.
• Support facility maintenance activities as needed.

Safety Responsibilities

Safety is a critical responsibility of this position. The Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Technician is expected to:

• Follow all company safety policies and applicable workplace safety requirements.
• Follow established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before servicing or maintaining equipment where hazardous energy may be present.
• Properly identify and control electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other stored‑energy hazards before beginning work.
• Use appropriate PPE and tools for assigned maintenance activities.
• Maintain guards, emergency stops, safety devices, and other machine‑safety components in proper working condition.
• Immediately report unsafe equipment or conditions to the Plant Manager.
• Keep maintenance work areas clean and organized and ensure equipment is returned to a safe operating condition following repairs.
• Participate in safety training and equipment‑specific training as required.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade school, or industrial maintenance training preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively with plant management, production employees, vendors, and outside service technicians.

Preferred Experience

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position works primarily within an active manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to noise, heat, moving equipment, welding operations, and other industrial conditions.

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include standing and walking for extended periods; bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and working in various positions; safely using ladders and maintenance equipment; and lifting or moving tools, parts, and equipment as required.

Required PPE must be worn in designated areas.
