Job summary

Texas Injection Molding in Houston is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to own the maintenance lifecycle for our molding operations. You will design and implement preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and keep production assets running at peak performance.

You will document PMs, manage parts inventory and budgets, calibrate machine controls, and provide on-call coverage for critical events.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in industrial maintenance with injection molding machinery.
  • Demonstrated mechanical repair capability: hydraulics, motors, and pumps.
  • Electrical competence: interpret schematics and troubleshoot advanced wiring/control systems.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and deliver on-time, on-budget repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Maintenance Manager to keep production assets running at peak performance.
  • Design, implement, and record preventative maintenance procedures for capital equipment: presses, granulators, dryers, water tower, chillers, and more.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on production and facility equipment.
  • Write equipment specifications and recommend auxiliary equipment purchases.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and skid loaders when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records: PM schedules, installations, structural work, work orders, and operational logs.
  • Track the maintenance budget, manage parts inventory, and control expenses.
  • Calibrate injection machine controls; audit screws and barrels to verify they meet minimum standards.
  • Provide technical support on facility systems including electrical distribution, building work, and plumbing.
  • Lead continuous improvement and uphold 5S—keep work areas and grounds safe and orderly.
  • Be available on call 24 hours for maintenance events that could impact customer commitments.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

The mission

Maximize uptime and utilization across our molding operation by owning the maintenance lifecycle—from proactive PMs to fast, safe corrective repairs—and by continuously improving equipment reliability and cost control.

What you bring Education
  • High School diploma or GED.
Experience
  • 7+ years in industrial maintenance with injection molding machinery; blow molding or extrusion experience may substitute for injection molding.
  • Demonstrated mechanical repair capability: hydraulics, motors, and pumps.
  • Electrical competence: interpret schematics and troubleshoot advanced wiring/control systems.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and deliver on-time, on-budget repairs.
Capabilities
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Decisive, data-driven problem solver with good judgment.
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
  • Proficient in industrial electrical control and hydraulic system troubleshooting.
  • Experienced with single- and three-phase motor diagnostics.
  • PLC/logic controls familiarity is a plus.
  • Works independently and sees projects through to completion; able to lead improvement projects.
