Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of a novel high-voltage electro-mechanical system for our next-generation EV platform. You will collaborate with electrical, testing, manufacturing and quality teams to optimize performance, reliability and cost while delivering designs that meet DFX requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 3+ years designing electro-mechanical components for volume production.
• Experience integrating PCBA into mechanical enclosures (press fit, soldering, conformal coating).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials (die casting, injection molding, CNC).
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design and development of high-volume, high-voltage electro-mechanical system for Ford's EV platform.
• Collaborate with hardware design to build on-vehicle ECUs with optimized performance and cost.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure DFX and quality standards.
• Develop prototypes and coordinate testing for functionality.
• Engage suppliers from concept through manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
• Develop assembly/test fixtures and support test planning.
• Create mechanical function specifications and document test plans.
