Job summary

Framatome is seeking engineers in Lynchburg, VA to perform design, development, analysis, testing, and field task resolution supporting nuclear solutions. You will evaluate problems, apply standard procedures, and ensure compliance with governing standards while collaborating with senior staff.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical/electrical/computer engineering background, 2+ years experience, strong CAD/FEA/CFD skills, and an interest in hardware design, electro‑mechanical fabrication and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Advanced level of CAD, FEA, CFD and programming skills.
  • Understanding of design and function of electrical control systems; troubleshoot electro‑mechanical issues.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical data.
  • Desire to perform hardware design, electro‑mechanical fabrication, and software coding.
  • Product development, R&D product evaluation, and product lifecycle evaluation.
  • Demonstration of project management.
  • Ability to obtain a safety clearance for entry into nuclear power plants.

Benefits
  • Salary: $77,000 - $100,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
