Safran S.A. seeks an experienced Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician II to perform maintenance and production tasks on avionics equipment in accordance with FAA regulations and CMM requirements.

You will disassemble, inspect, measure, and reassemble components with precision, using torque tools and precision instruments. Strong documentation and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience.
• Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician II: 2+ years related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and quality requirements.
• Understanding of CMM requirements and torque standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard testing procedures on equipment and validate results.
• Perform repairs on aviation units in compliance with FAA regulations and CMM requirements.
• Disassemble, clean, and visually inspect parts for wear or issues.

Job Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician is responsible for carrying out production or maintenance tasks on a range of equipment, ensuring all work complies with approved technical data and quality manual standards.

Shift

2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct standard testing procedures on various equipment and validate the results.
• Perform repairs on aviation units in compliance with FAA regulations and in accordance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) requirements.
• Disassemble, clean, and visually inspect parts to identify issues or wear.
• Reassemble parts, ensuring all measurements meet specified tolerances and requirements.
• Accurately track and document all activities, maintaining proper control of parts.
• Help maintain shop compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Contribute to process improvements aimed at reducing cycle time.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Apply maintenance manuals to evaluate and determine the acceptability of components.
• Regularly update work order information in the ERP system.
• Follow established procedures, making adjustments as necessary and promptly notifying supervisors; recommend expenditures as needed.
• Safeguard confidential and sensitive information to protect SEDA's reputation and competitive position.
• Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, actively supporting Safran HSE policies and remaining vigilant for potential hazards when adopting new skills or equipment.

Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician II Responsibilities

• Understand and convert torque values between Metric and ASME standards.
• Adjust, calibrate, and accurately read all types of torque wrenches.
• Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges—both analog and digital.
• Perform precise measurements using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to adjust shims and ensure mechanical accuracy.
• Conduct soldering on electronic components with proficiency.
• Demonstrate a full understanding of TSN (Time Since New) and CSN (Cycles Since New) for maintenance scheduling and part replacement.
• Test electronic components such as diodes, capacitors, and relays; interpret unit schematics.
• Tighten or loosen bolts/nuts following correct torque specifications and directions
• Inspect and rotate gears within gear trains to verify proper operation.
• Identify bolt and nut sizes and install safety-wire where applicable.
• Detect corrosion on mechanical parts and determine necessity for replacement.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and specifications accurately.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain attention to detail while working efficiently under supervision.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician II: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic level of Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methods is a plus
• Knowledge of production and repair tools and benches, instrumentation and measuring skills
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and understanding of quality requirements
• Compliance with safety rules (PPE - Personal Prevention Equipment)
• Compliance with procedures and standards - knowledge of CMM requirements
