Job summary

inTEST Corporation is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to build electrical and mechanical subassemblies for semiconductor testing equipment. You will work with modules, circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and fasteners, following repetitive production standards with emphasis on accuracy.

Responsibilities include reading BOMs and blueprints, assembling mechanical and electrical components, routing wires, performing tests, and maintaining a clean work area in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read electro-mechanical drawings, procedures and schematics.
  • Manual dexterity with quick, accurate assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Read BOMs, work instructions, travelers and blueprints.
  • Assemble mechanical components following engineering sequences.
  • Inspect fitment and finish to meet requirements.
  • Electrical assembly of complex components and testing.
  • Route, wire, and install components in cabinets and enclosures.
  • Cut wires to specified lengths and solder as needed.
  • Perform functional and continuity tests on assemblies.
  • Maintain clean, safe workspace.

Electro-Mechanical Assembler

We have an immediate opportunity for an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to build electrical and mechanical subassemblies and integrate them into higher level assemblies used in Semiconductor testing equipment.

Job Description

In this position, you will work with electrical or electronic components, such as modules, circuit boards, wiring harnesses, machined parts, and commercial fasteners. This role involves following repetitive production standards so we will consider any applicant with manual dexterity and electro-mechanical aptitude. Successful Electro-Mechanical Assembler candidates need to have the ability to use electrical assembly hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, drivers, soldering tools as well as mechanical assembly tools, i.e. hand drills, wrenches, drivers.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ability to read and interpret BOM’s, Work Instructions, Travelers, Blueprints, Routers, and Engineering Change Notices to include Engineering modifications and designs.
  • Mechanical Assembly of complex components with the ability to follow engineering blueprints and assembly sequences with care and accuracy.
  • Fitment and inspection of assembly is necessary to ensure product has met desired requirements.
  • Electrical Assembly of complex components where a high degree of problem‑solving with care and accuracy.
  • Routes, wires, assembles, and installs electrical and electronic components in cabinets, electronics enclosures and on assembled machines to complete functionality of integrated components according to specifications.
  • Cuts wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters and soldering gun and hand tools.
  • Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping devices.
  • Routes, combs, twists, wraps, ties, and attaches wire to terminal points, according to layout, using soldering gun and hand tools.
  • Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical tests on finished products before packaging.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
  • Completes other tasks as necessary.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Proficiency with all basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Possess manual dexterity to assemble electrical or mechanical parts quickly and accurately.
  • Both Mechanical and Electrical aptitude including the ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to read and follow electro‑mechanical assembly drawings, procedures and schematics.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information.
  • Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
  • Understands when to request guidance from superiors and proper chain of command.
  • Ability to bend/kneel, stoop/crouch, and twist/turn frequently.
  • Can stand up to 7 hours.
  • The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
