Job summary

Leidos in Ladson, SC, seeks an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to rapidly manufacture sub-assemblies and finished systems. You will read instructions, assemble cables and panels, solder components, and verify conformity using measurement tools.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or R&D.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
• ESD awareness.
• Basic computer skills for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cables, harnesses, panels, enclosures, and other small sub-assemblies.
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics.
• Install components and devices per assembly documentation.
• Solder wires, PCBA’s, and components.
• Measure, cut, strip, and route wires on panels and/or enclosures.
• Use basic hand tools and power tools.
• Use measuring tools like multimeters, calipers, tape measure to verify conformity.
• Provide assembly feedback and suggest improvements.
• Complete build records and documentation as required.
• Conduct quality checks on own work and buddy checks on others’ work.
• Maintain workspace cleanliness using 5S methodologies.

Leidos currently has an opening for an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to work in our Ladson, SC facility. As a member of the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team, you will be joining a diverse group dedicated to producing industry-leading screening technology. Our new facility will produce fully automated, integrated products for aviation, shipping ports, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers, providing threat detection by screening baggage, cargo, and people at checkpoints worldwide.

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for rapid manufacturing of sub-assemblies and finished systems, covering assembly of cables, harnesses, panels, mechanical assemblies, or large system builds. The job includes reviewing documentation, safely using tools, operating material handling equipment, recording system information, adhering to company policies, and interacting positively with team members. Physical maneuvering may be required for large product builds.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assemble cables, harnesses, panels, enclosures, and other small sub-assemblies
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics
• Install components and devices per assembly documentation
• Solder wires, PCBA’s, and components
• Measure, cut, strip, and route wires on panels and/or enclosures
• Utilize a combination of basic hand tools and power tools
• Utilize measuring tools such as multimeters, continuity checker, calipers, tape measure, and ruler to verify conformity of product
• Provide assembly feedback and suggested changes or improvements
• Complete build records and documentation as required
• Conduct quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others work
• Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization utilizing 5S methodologies
• Follow manufacturing guidelines and procedures
• Adhere to company regulatory and compliance policies
• Participate in cross‑training activities
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing or research and development (R&D)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).

Pay Range

$48,100.00 - $86,950.00
