Job summary

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Technician in Oldsmar, FL, to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will perform inspections, diagnose issues, read schematics, and support installation and upgrades while collaborating with teams.

The role requires experience in manufacturing, PLC troubleshooting, HMIs/VFDs, and predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with HMIs, VFDs, operator interfaces, and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis.
  • Experience in a corrugated box plant or paper industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues, including machinery, motors, control panels, and industrial systems.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), A/C and D/C drives, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Set up, align, and adjust equipment for optimal performance and product quality.
  • Utilize maintenance software to plan, schedule, track, and complete work.
  • Maintain equipment to maximize uptime, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime, especially during overnight/3rd shift operations.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Train and support other maintenance team members on procedures and qualifications.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Work flexible hours
  • Follow all company policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
