Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States seeks an Energy and Power Discipline Leader to drive electrification, grid modernization, and renewable energy advisory services for federal, state, municipal, transit, school, and commercial clients. The role requires SME-level expertise in electrical resiliency, EV fleets, microgrids, and distributed energy resources.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop concepts and tactical processes, and help clients integrate electrification into evolving grid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the development of analysis, evaluation, design, and development of approaches and processes for EV fleet adoption.
• Provide electrification and renewable energy advisory and design support services to clients nationwide.
• Educate internal leaders and teams on new policies and funding opportunities for electrification.
• Lead qualitative and quantitative analysis, including financial modeling, cost-benefit analyses.
• Champion R&D initiatives related to green/electrification/renewable energy.
• Lead cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams in complex strategic efforts.
• Be both a seller and a doer, guiding clients into new mobility spaces.
• Collaborate with practices across the firm to advance this discipline.
• Mentor technical staff and collaborate with researchers, vendors, and clients.
• Lead webinars and promote goals and initiatives.
• Support TGAs related to power for data centers, decarbonization, and grid modernization.
