Job summary

John Deere seeks an Electrification Engineering intern for its 2027 Summer Internship program. The role supports electric drive components and systems worldwide, with responsibilities in motor design, power electronics, and control systems.

Available locations include Cary, NC, and Fargo, ND; relocation may be required. The intern program runs about 12 weeks in summer, with strong emphasis on hands‑on lab work and cross‑functional collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing junior year in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with lab equipment and measurements.
• Familiarity with Simulink or LabView is preferred.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or circuit analysis software.
• Interest in electric machines, power electronics or EV systems.
• Minimum GPA 2.8; 3.4+ preferred.
• Willing to relocate to Deere locations in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Support product analysis, design, and testing for electric drive components.
• Assist motor design analysis and testing activities.
• Contribute to power electronics hardware development and testing.
• Develop control system simulations and validate algorithms.
